How To Build Intimacy In A Relationship

Intimacy in relationships

Intimacy generally refers to how close two individuals are to one another. Vulnerability, transparency, and trust are necessary. Being intimate with someone on one level doesn’t always imply that you’ll be intimate with them in other ways.

Depending on the power dynamics present, you could experience different sorts of intimacy with your parents, significant other, friends, or coworkers.

Consider romantic relationships, where decisions are often made in concert and neither party exercises authority over the other or has access to greater resources.

One method to develop intimacy in a relationship is to share your most private and darkest thoughts and feelings with your partner. However, if the thought of sharing your most embarrassing or vulnerable moments with your spouse makes you feel horribly exposed, don’t worry.

Other strategies for increasing intimacy in a relationship can help!

The goal of intimacy is to deepen and strengthen a relationship with your partner, and if your partner has no desire to strengthen your intimacy, it can be a red flag.

However, the way you develop and communicate that intimacy is a very personal experience.

For one person, it is letting someone into their personal space. For another, it can include having a deep discussion over which Twilight movie was superior.

Types Of Intimacy

To deepen a relationship with your partner you have to work on all types of intimacy. Not all relationships involve all types of intimacy, but these five are the most common to share:

Physical Intimacy

Intimacy in a relationship

Bringing bodies together. Does not necessarily have to be sexual, such as when you lean on a friend’s shoulder to confide in them about your awful week.

Body closeness is referred to as physical intimacy. Depending on the connection, it could entail holding hands, kissing, embracing, or cuddling. Touching and closeness are involved in this sort of intimacy, which can increase emotions of emotional closeness.

Physical contact can strengthen relationships and lessen feelings of isolation. Other relationships, where trust and vulnerability may not be present, are not typically this close.

You can openly discuss the other person’s comfort level with various forms of touch in order to foster this type of intimate connection.

Make the other person feel safe when you touch them as this is another approach to foster a physical intimate connection.

Start with mild touches, gentle hugs, or forehead kisses to achieve this. Respecting boundaries and being open to the other person’s responses is critical.

Emotional Intimacy

Sharing sensitive information that you wouldn’t feel comfortable disclosing to strangers or large groups of people is emotional intimacy. It’s about being open with your deepest emotions, worries, and thoughts when you are emotionally connected with someone else.

It entails feeling secure and unchallenged. The key is to also act in the same way toward the other person.

You must take chances and be honest in a relationship to foster an emotionally intimate connection. Closeness in this area, however, may prove difficult if one or both of the parties are emotionally distant or fearful of being intimate.

Most forms of relationships can lead to the development of this kind of intimacy.

By improving communication skills and listening more intently to the other person, emotional intimacy can be fostered.

Assurance that you are secure with each other despite having different experiences and emotions may be necessary for this form of closeness and comfort when you express your deepest fears, pains, and doubts.

Intellectual Intimacy

Understanding another person’s point of view and exchanging ideas and philosophies about oneself and life.

The term intellectual intimacy refers to the sharing of thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives on life. It could also entail pushing one another intellectually and being receptive to learning about or at least taking into account the other person’s viewpoints.

Nurturing intellectual intimacy includes engaging in thought-provoking conversations about a variety of subjects and feeling comfortable expressing your own opinions.

The best way to build intellectual intimacy is to treat each other with respect, even when you hold divergent opinions.

You might wish to maintain a curious mindset in order to cultivate intellectual connection. Sharing perspectives with the goal of mutual learning is more important than fighting opposing viewpoints.

Spiritual Intimacy

Intimacy in a relationship

This category might comprise both essential values (such as kindness) and religious beliefs. There could be a common goal for how you wish to conduct your life.

Spiritual intimacy is the ability to feel close to, validated by, and comfortable in expressing your deepest thoughts and convictions regarding your life’s purpose and your connection to divine forces. Because it could signify different things to different people, the idea is still hazy.

Although sharing a broader definition of spirituality may be a requirement for spiritual connection, it is not a requirement that both parties have the same beliefs.

You could wish to understand more about each other’s spiritual practices and beliefs, and more importantly, why those things are meaningful to them, in order to foster spiritual connection. Spiritual closeness entails explaining how your beliefs affect your life while acknowledging that this may differ from other people.

Experimental Intimacy

You might be asking what exactly constitutes experimental intimacy among the various sorts of intimacy. You and your partner don’t have to spend all of your time together. You two must make time for one another, nevertheless, and enjoy some worthwhile adventures.

Experiential closeness is more about getting to know each other and sharing your daily experiences. An intimacy of activity is experimental closeness.

Make a list of activities you can do together as well as a second list of activities you can both do on your own. The lists will assist in maintaining harmony between your private space and communal space.

For the sake of developing the required intimacy, try to undertake more and more activities that you both enjoy. Take your partner for a stroll, watch a movie together, go gardening, etc. All of them will aid in addressing your relationship’s lack of experiential closeness.

Fear Of Intimacy And Ways To Overcome It

The phrase “fear of intimacy” describes the fear of being overly intimate with another person in one or more areas.

Depending on the person’s age and the sort of connection, there are a number of reasons why they could dread intimacy.

Many younger individuals may spend more time exploring for other potential companions than enhancing their present relationships and developing closeness. The fear of losing your identity is another potential concern with regard to intimate relationships.

The interaction between a parent and kid might also include a fear of vulnerability. Even adults may decide not to have a close relationship with their parents or guardians if they are worried about disappointing them.

Getting help from a mental health professional can help you overcome your phobia of intimacy. They might be able to investigate the origins of your anxiety and collaborate with you to come up with a strategy that works for your individual situation.

How To Overcome Fear Of Intimacy

  • The likelihood that a relationship will succeed is 50%. Maybe a 60% chance in your favor if you’re lucky. But if you don’t even want to attempt, you’re doomed to failure. And it’s true that not taking the chance hurts just as much as failing.
  • You won’t ever feel as though you’re giving up your independence in the right kind of relationship. The ideal companion will encourage you, improve your experiences, and assist you in creating the life you both desire. Not a prison sentence, but a partner might be more appropriate.
  • You can always choose a new partner. You are probably not open enough to get to know one another and genuinely determine if you are compatible if you are worried about picking the incorrect spouse. I’m not advocating that you enter every relationship prepared to cut it off. At the start of a relationship, it is comforting to know that there is always a way out.

Tips For Building Intimacy

Here are my top tips for building and maintaining intimacy in a relationship.

Prioritize Your Intimacy

Although it may seem obvious, this is not the case for many of us. What you value most is reflected in your life. And whether or not we make an effort, life still happens to us. You might easily become a “victim of circumstance” who is only reacting to everything that is thrown your way, especially if you have a growing family with young children at home. Start being deliberate.

If intimacy in a relationship is important to you, it follows that you consider it frequently and concentrate on how you will prioritize and fit it in. Love your partner as much as you can.

People frequently prioritize having affairs and are secretive about it. It isn’t a side issue; it’s brand-new, intriguing, and their own secret. Why not direct that energy onto your relationship instead of engaging in an affair? Be imaginative.

Think of sneaky ways to incorporate the physical aspect. The intentional connection may happen through touch, and the more we incorporate it into our relationships, the more our attention is drawn to it. Touch is something you can’t truly ignore for very long; when someone touches you, you pay attention. especially if it is done in a private manner. So focus on one another, extend your hands, and make a physical connection.

Schedule Your Intimacy

I’m not advocating that this turn into a routine, scheduled portion of the day. However, scheduling it in clarifies things for both of you; there is no guesswork; everything is spelled out clearly. Unspoken expectations only cause unease and resentment.

Plan your day so that you allocate time to prioritizing your physical connection. It’s not necessary to plan a complicated date. Something as easy as a daily bedtime where you and your partner cuddle and focus on physical intimacy could cause a significant change in your relationship. And that’s it—just a straightforward reminder to make physical contact each day.

That’s all there is to it: just a daily reminder to make physical contact.

Communicate Your Expectations

Be honest with one another and express your needs and desires clearly. If you’re unsure, be honest about it too so that you can both learn. Learn about one another’s personalities and the things that bind you together most strongly. This is a really crucial aspect of your connection. It’s difficult to expect your partner to know better if you don’t know yourself.

Looking to play around in the bedroom more together? Together, you can figure out what both of you find enjoyable.

Make It Your Routine

Make your relationship with your partner a top priority and an integral part of your daily routine, much like exercise and meditation. Not all habits are harmful; you may develop the habit of watching TV every night or you could develop the habit of doing yoga or another form of exercise every day.

I want to emphasize how crucial it is to develop a routine around your physical connection. A habit needs to be broken after 28 days, and it takes 90 days to truly implement a new routine and make it a habit.

It will become an automatic part of your life that you miss when you don’t do it if you incorporate it into your daily routine in the same way that you incorporate exercise and brushing your teeth. If you frequently exercise, your body will miss it and feel “off” if you don’t prioritize it.

Similarly to this, if you make it a daily habit to be physically intimate with your lover, you will miss it if you don’t. We definitely notice if a day goes by where we don’t touch because our physical intimacy is such an integral part of our daily life. It’s like skipping that yoga or meditation session that helps us stay connected, balanced, and focused throughout the day.

7 Activities to Help Build Intimacy

It takes work to create intimacy, but it doesn’t have to be difficult, as we discussed in the preceding paragraph. So, each day of the week, we’ll set a small task for you to complete. Even though they may appear a little unusual or ridiculous, each activity only lasts for around 10 or 15 minutes and is intended to assist create that intimate setting.

Having A Staring Contest

Intimacy in a relationship

For the first minute, just stare into each other’s eyes, without grinning or giggling. Have a friendly smile exchange for the next minute. Make a sorrowful look for the entire third minute. Make a furious expression for the fourth. And for the last minute, attempt to convince your lover that they are the only thing in the world that you love.

The intimacy that can be developed through this pastime may initially feel a little odd. Being able to look directly into someone’s eyes for 5 full minutes can be a little unsettling.

Guide Your Partner

Locate the room that is farthest from the kitchen. Cover your partner’s eyes, lead them into the kitchen, have them pour a glass of water, and have them drink it, all while keeping their eyes covered, starting in that room. Then, trade roles and repeat the process!

You must trust your spouse in order to develop closeness, and there is no better way to achieve that than by leading them carefully around furniture and other obstructions while you hide your eyes.

Reveal Your Insecurities

Tell your lover about each insecurity you have one at a time. something that causes you to feel inadequate. Be frightened. After you’ve listened, reassuringly explain why they are BETTER than adequate. Make sure they understand how much you adore them and that you wouldn’t alter a thing about them!

Having a companion who makes you feel welcome is crucial to developing intimacy. Your spouse will be able to concentrate more on the emotional connections between the two of you and less on their own insecurities if they know that you adore them just as they are. Therefore, never stop telling them how unique they are in real life!

Take A Sex Quiz

It can be difficult to be completely honest about your sexual preferences with a new partner or even a long-term one, especially when it comes to explaining the specifics of what you enjoy and don’t like in bed. It’s critical to feel at ease discussing sex with your spouse, but doing so requires time and trust. Doing a sex quiz like Mojo Upgrade can be a less awkward approach to discuss your secret turn-ons and fantasies with your lover if you need a little assistance getting the conversation going. It will increase your intimacy and make you feel more at ease sexually with one another.

Two Breath Hug

By enacting a special hug here and there, you communicate to your partner that you want to be connected. Unlike that all-too-casual hug we do with strangers and acquaintances, the Two-Breath Hug puts a pause in the robotic mechanisms of everyday living.

Love requires us to be conscious. This hug brings that pause and that special attention in a small yet very significant way.

You might let your spouse know that you wish to connect by giving them random, special hugs. The Two-Breath Hug pauses the robotic processes of daily life, unlike that all-too-casual hug we give to strangers and friends.

We need to be conscious in order to love. This hug, in a modest but very important way, causes that stop and that particular attention.

Listen To Each Other

In this activity, one partner speaks or “vents” on a subject of their choice, and the other partner must sit across from them and only listen.

You two might be surprised by how uncomfortable it might feel to simply listen without responding. The listener is then free to offer criticism once the five, three, or eight-minute diatribe is finished.

Another communication exercise that improves our ability to fully listen and absorb another person’s stream of consciousness is active listening practice.

They will feel as like we have our full attention when we concentrate on them without being distracted, which is important yet uncommon in today’s hectic society.

Intentional listening also serves as a reminder to keep our attention on the other person and refrain from speaking before they are ready. At the conclusion of this activity, you will switch roles as speaker and listener.

7 Breath Forehead Connection

Whether you’re sitting up straight or resting on your sides, face each other and lightly touch your foreheads.

Your chins should be slightly lowered so that your noses aren’t quite touching (a little bit of contact is fine, but it’s not crucial for this exercise).

Breathe seven slow, deep breaths together with your spouse, foreheads touching. The first or second breaths could feel like they require a lot of conscious attention, similar to the eye contact exercise, but by the third or fourth breath, it will feel like a very natural thing to perform.

Seven breaths is the ideal minimum amount of breaths for couples to fully dive in to the present and feel connected, but you can continue doing this practice for several minutes if you’d like.

You can do this for a few minutes if you and your companion are overachievers who enjoy doing additional schoolwork.

Communicate And Have Conversations

Asking your spouse questions is a terrific way to boost your pleasure, spice up your sex life, get to know each other even better, and get turned on by the chat before getting physical. Communication is the cornerstone of a healthy relationship.

Here are 22 questions to ask your lover to increase your intimacy and connection. Set a moody environment with some candles, sensuous music, and no phones before diving into three to five questions at a time. If it feels more comfortable than speaking aloud initially, you can always choose the questions and write your responses down in a journal before taking turns.

  1. What scares you the most?
  2. What do you want most deeply?
  3. What do you adore about me the most?
  4. What are your three favorite joint memories?
  5. How do you feel that you should be loved?
  6. What would you use, to sum up our relationship in one word?
  7. What is the sexiest thing about me?
  8. How can I express my gratitude to you?
  9. What kind of physical contact is your preferred one?
  10. How would you describe me to others?
  11. What about me did you notice right away?
  12. What about me appeals to you the most?
  13. What more could I do for you than what I already do?
  14. What intentions do you have for us?
  15. How can we (create a sex bucket list) liven things up in the bedroom?
  16. Do we share a similar outlook on life?
  17. What excites you?
  18. What irritates you?
  19. What was your favorite thing I’ve ever done to you?
  20. What sexual fantasies have you never shared with anyone?
  21. What body part do you like to be touched the most?
  22. What turns you on the most?

By asking each other these questions, you’ll be able to deepen your connection and intimacy, which will help your relationship flourish and increase your degree of sexual intimacy.

Think Like Your Guests

It’s a good idea to imagine yourself as your guest when throwing a Christmas party at home.

Consider how they will feel from the time they arrive until they depart, starting with the welcome at the entrance.

Is there a location where visitors can keep their belongings and coats when they arrive?

Where may people place gifts and food donations? Is there a certain place to sit?

You’ll gain a better understanding of the type of preparation that has to be made around the house as you run through various scenarios.

Create A Timeline And Checklist

One of the key steps in staying organized is creating a timeline and checklist to outline all the tasks that need to be accomplished before the party.

Start by determining the party date and work backward, listing all the preparations needed for each day leading up to the event.

Break down tasks into smaller, manageable steps, such as cleaning, decorating, menu planning, and shopping.

By following a timeline and checking off completed tasks, you can stay on top of your preparations and avoid last-minute stress.

Delegate Tasks and Seek Assistance

Remember, you don’t have to handle everything on your own. Enlist the help of family members, friends, or even hired professionals to assist with various tasks where you can.

Delegate responsibilities such as decorations, food preparation, or greeting guests at the door.

Assign specific tasks to each person involved and communicate your expectations clearly.

Sharing the workload not only lightens your burden but also allows others to contribute and feel involved in the celebration.

Simplify the Menu

Hosting a holiday party doesn’t mean you have to create a gourmet feast.

Simplify the menu by focusing on a few signature dishes or preparing a potluck-style gathering where guests bring their favorite dishes.

Consider incorporating make-ahead recipes or opting for a catered meal to reduce your workload in the kitchen.

Don’t forget to inquire about any dietary restrictions or allergies your guests may have to ensure everyone is accommodated.

Plan For The Unexpected

No matter how well you plan, unexpected situations can arise. Prepare for contingencies by having backup supplies and extra food on hand.

Keep a list of important contacts, such as local caterers, party rental services, or a trusted friend who can assist in case of emergencies.

Having a backup plan in place can help you navigate unforeseen circumstances with ease, minimizing stress and allowing you to enjoy the party.

Speaking of the unexpected, you need to account for whether or not this will be a kid-friendly party, and if it is, here is a list of great screen-free winter activities for kids, that they will enjoy while the grown-ups party.

Take Care Of Yourself

During the preparations, it’s crucial to take care of yourself.

Set aside some time to relax and recharge. Prioritize self-care activities such as exercise, meditation, or a warm bath to help alleviate stress.

Remember that your well-being is essential for hosting a successful and enjoyable holiday party.

Embrace imperfections and understand that the most important aspect of the gathering is spending quality time with loved ones.

Your guests will appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere you create, regardless of any small mishaps.

From the entrance to the actual party area, thoughtful decorations can transform your home into a winter wonderland.

We will guide you through the process of setting the stage and decorating your home for a memorable Christmas party.

Welcoming Entrance

Create an inviting entrance that sets the tone for the party as soon as guests arrive.

Hang a beautiful wreath on your front door adorned with festive ribbons and ornaments.

Place luminous lanterns along the pathway leading to your home, and consider adding a small Christmas tree near the entrance, decorated with twinkling lights.

Festive Lighting

christmas lighting will make your holiday party even more festive

Christmas lights play a significant role in creating a magical atmosphere.

Use warm white or multicolored fairy lights to illuminate the exterior and interior of your home.

Drape them around banisters, windows, and door frames to infuse a cozy and enchanting feel.

For added elegance, replace regular bulbs with candle-shaped or globe-string lights.

Deck The Halls

Transform your living space into a Christmas haven by adorning every corner with delightful decorations. Hang garlands along staircases, mantels, and door frames.

Incorporate pinecones, berries, and artificial snow for a touch of winter charm.

Display your favorite holiday cards or create a photo wall featuring memories from previous Christmas parties and memories you share with your guests.

Small details make a big difference. Scatter decorative accents like mini Christmas figurines, snow globes, and nutcrackers throughout your home.

Hang mistletoe in doorways to encourage holiday cheer and memorable moments.

Don’t forget to place stockings near the fireplace or create a dedicated area for guests to leave their gifts.

Extend the holiday spirit outdoors by embellishing your backyard or patio. Hang string lights or lanterns from trees or along the fence.

Use weatherproof decorations like oversized ornaments, light-up reindeer, or a beautifully decorated outdoor tree.

Set up a hot chocolate or mulled wine station, complete with mugs and cozy blankets for guests to enjoy.

Ensure your guests feel cozy and comfortable by incorporating soft textiles and warm elements. Add plump cushions and festive throws to sofas and chairs.

Make your home smell like Christmas with candles with fragrances such as cinnamon, pine, or gingerbread to create an inviting aroma, or diffusers and room mists.

Consider playing soft Christmas music in the background to set the perfect mood.

Doing these little things can really set your holiday party apart from the rest.

The Christmas Tree

The centerpiece of any Christmas party is the tree, and your party should be no different. Choose a fresh or artificial tree that suits the size of your space.

Decorate it with a cohesive color scheme, such as gold and silver, red and green, or pastels.

Use a variety of ornaments, ribbons, and tinsel to add depth and texture. Finish with a stunning tree topper that complements your theme.

Set The Dining Table

Set your dining table to impress your friends and family at your holiday Christmas party

The dining table is where guests gather to indulge in delicious food and share laughter. Set an exquisite tablescape by using a crisp tablecloth in seasonal hues.

Enhance the centerpiece with a combination of candles, fresh flowers, or a creative arrangement of ornaments.

Place personalized name cards or small holiday favors at each setting to add a lovely personal touch.

Setting the stage and decorating your home for a remarkable Christmas party is an opportunity to create lasting memories for your guests.

From the moment they step through the door, the festive ambiance should immerse them in the spirit of the season.

By incorporating welcoming entrances, enchanting lighting, and captivating decorations.

Don’t Forget The Bathroom

While setting up the dining room and decorating the living room are two of the most important tasks, you shouldn’t overlook this advice for hosting holiday gatherings.

Make sure your guest bathroom is fully stocked with necessities like toilet paper, soap, and clean hand towels while also giving it a festive flair.

You should also include scented candles and party-themed accessories as additional decorative items.

Set The Mood With Good Music

Is a holiday gathering truly complete without the hushed strains of carols like “Silver Bells” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”?

Playing holiday music in the background will help you create the right atmosphere for your event.

Avoid listening to any songs with lyrics during the dinner hour as this will make it more difficult to communicate.

4. Have Great Food

Hosting a Christmas party involves not only creating a festive atmosphere but also preparing a delightful menu that will leave your guests satisfied.

To ensure a smooth and organized culinary experience, it’s important to plan ahead, consider your guests’ allergies, and offer a variety of delicious drinks.

We’ll guide you through the process of staying organized when making food for your Christmas party, from setting a menu to catering to allergies, and we’ll also provide refreshing drink ideas, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Plan and Prepare Ahead

Start by creating a detailed menu well in advance. Consider the number of guests, dietary restrictions, and the complexity of each dish.

Make a comprehensive shopping list and gather all the necessary ingredients well in advance to avoid a last-minute rush and ensure you have everything on hand and are well prepared to avoid feeling stressed.

Prep whatever you can ahead of time, such as chopping vegetables or marinating meats, to minimize stress on the day of the party.

In addition to cooking ahead, be sure to stock up on plenty of snacks and finger foods, as well as beverages.

Setting The Menu

When designing your Christmas party menu, aim for a balance of flavors, textures, and variety.

Include crowd-pleasing dishes like roasted turkey, glazed ham, or a vegetarian alternative. Complement the main course with a selection of side dishes such as mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted vegetables, or a festive salad.

Don’t forget to offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options to accommodate different dietary preferences for any friends or family members who fall under those categories.

Consider A Buffet-Style Arrangement

Who doesn’t enjoy a good supper buffet? If a sizable number of guests will be attending your event, think about having a more laid-back setting with a buffet-style menu.

It will relieve some of your serving-related stress and enable your visitors to wander around and mingle while they eat their fill of treats.

Move your buffet table away from the wall so that guests may line up on either side to put this holiday party concept into reality.

Cater To Allergies

It’s crucial to consider your guests’ allergies and dietary restrictions when planning your menu.

Ask all your guests in advance about any food allergies or intolerances they may have, and be mindful of cross-contamination if you’re preparing dishes that can trigger allergic reactions, I would personally just stay away from any allergens to avoid disasters.

Label each dish with allergen information to help guests make informed choices. Offering a few allergy-friendly alternatives, such as nut-free desserts or gluten-free appetizers, demonstrates thoughtfulness and inclusivity.

Have A Drink Menu

drinks for your Christmas party

Creating a well-rounded drink selection is essential for any Christmas party. Consider offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to accommodate different preferences and ensure everyone feels included.

  • Alcoholic Drinks: Craft two-three signature holiday cocktails, such as a spiced cranberry margarita or a cozy mulled wine, to add a festive touch. Also offer a selection of wines, champagne, or craft beers that pair well with the menu. Remember to provide non-alcoholic options, like a mocktail bar with refreshing choices such as sparkling cranberry punch or a fruity spritzer.
  • Non-Alcoholic Drinks: Offer a range of non-alcoholic beverages for those who don’t consume alcohol. Set up a hot cocoa station with toppings like marshmallows, whipped cream, and flavored syrups. Provide a selection of herbal teas, infused water with seasonal fruits and herbs, or homemade festive eggnog.

Stay Organized On The Day

To avoid feeling overwhelmed on the day of the party, create a timeline and designate specific tasks to ensure smooth execution and avoid burnout.

Prepare dishes that can be made in advance, leaving only the finishing touches for the day itself. Set up a designated area for food and drinks, organizing them in a logical order to facilitate easy access for guests.

Also, use labels or small cards to indicate the name of each dish and any potential allergens.

Festive Food and Beverage Stations

Create interactive food and beverage stations that allow guests to personalize their experience. Set up a hot cocoa bar with an array of toppings like marshmallows, whipped cream, and flavored syrups.

Provide a DIY cocktail station where guests can mix their own signature holiday drink using a selection of spirits, mixers, and garnishes.

  • A Hot Chocolate Bar
set up a hot chocolate bar at your holiday party

Setting up a hot chocolate bar at your party is a delightful and easy way to warm up your guests and add a festive touch to the event.

To make the process even simpler, you can purchase a hot chocolate bar kit from Amazon to decorate your hot cocoa bar.

Set up a designated area with a large pot of hot cocoa, along with mugs, spoons, and a selection of toppings.

  • A Smores Board

Create a mouthwatering s’mores board that will delight your guests and elevate your dessert experience.

Similar to a charcuterie board, a s’mores board brings together all the fixings for crafting delicious treats.

To make it even easier, consider purchasing a tabletop electric s’mores maker from Amazon. This convenient device provides a safe and hassle-free way to roast marshmallows indoors.

Set up a large platter or board and arrange an assortment of graham crackers, various chocolate options (such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and flavored chocolates), marshmallows, and additional toppings like crushed cookies, caramel drizzle, or sliced fruits.

Don’t forget to include skewers or long forks for roasting the marshmallows.

5. Have Fun Activities And Party Games

  • Christmas Trivia: Prepare a list of Christmas-themed questions and divide guests into teams. The team that answers the most questions correctly wins a small prize.

10 Bad Habits That Make You Less Productive In The Mornings

10 Bad Habits That Make You Less Productive In The Mornings

Mornings signal the start of the day and bring with them new hope. However, many of us end up developing some bad morning routines as a result of our fast-paced lives. So much so that, even though we are aware of the damage they cause, we are hesitant to alter our behavior as long as it keeps us ahead of the competition.

These bad morning habits negatively influence our physical and mental health, even though they may not be felt right away. As a result, we need to think about identifying and altering them.

Our mood and the quality of our night’s sleep immediately affect whether we have a good day when we wake up. While some of us like to snooze until the very last second, then jump out of bed and finish everything we need to before leaving the house, others prefer to wake up slowly and give themselves additional buffer time to avoid the rush. The latter is typically the best choice for most people because our morning routine often determines how the remainder of the day will go.

Setting up a healthy morning routine can therefore give you a sense of control and result in a positive attitude that takes you through your daily to-do list. On the other hand, when we inadvertently begin our days by casually scrolling through our phones, we start our days in a reactive rather than a proactive manner. Because of this, you might be less successful in reaching your own objectives and have less control over how your day will go. Additionally, exposing yourself to anxiety, dread, or comparison when you first wake up can shape the way you view the world.

10 Habits That Make Your Mornings Unproductive

It’s time to end the continual cycle if you find yourself falling into this pattern. Here, I outline the 10 factors that could be hindering your mornings and lowering your general productivity for the day.

1. Hitting The Snooze Button

Even though pressing the snooze button might seem like a convenient way to get a little extra sleep, it doesn’t actually help you relax. In reality, you’re only adding to your stress because you’re squeezing in less time than necessary for getting ready and preparing your mind for the day. Additionally, when we do this, we miss out on essential aspects of life that we ought to be concentrating on. Instead, we should go to bed earlier or set an alarm for a time that will allow us to wake up feeling rested.

We should rather work to change our habit of snoozing the alarm in order to better our sleep cycle. Try to find something to look forward to in the morning that will motivate you to get out of bed at the first sound of your alarm if you are snoozing at the cost of being on time. Perhaps it’s making plans to eat your preferred breakfast food or setting the coffee maker so that a hot cup is available when you are.

2. Not Having Enough Time To Wake Up

It’s crucial that you have enough time to awaken completely, which takes at least 30 minutes. You run the risk of being swept away by the people and circumstances you meet and having your energy drained if you don’t have time to truly wake up. Instead, pause for a moment to appreciate the beauty of being present, feel your surroundings, notice your breathing, and express appreciation for everything that you have in your life.

3. Using Your Phone First Thing When You Wake Up

You might consider checking your phone as soon as you wake up in an effort to catch up on anything you might have missed throughout the evening. However, this habit can make you less productive and just add a damper to your day. Depending on what you read, scrolling can not only take up a lot of time and cause you to rush the rest of your morning, but it can also make you feel anxious or agitated.

Have a quick, five-minute guided meditation prepared instead of jumping on social media or reading your email, or stretching in bed. Alternately, set your alarm to play music and, rather than turning it off, stretch for a few minutes while listening to it before getting out of your bed.

4. Not Making Your Bed

Making your bed may seem like something that is only done for show, but it actually helps you prepare for a productive day. An energy flow and a framework are both necessary for productivity. You won’t be motivated or creative without an energy flow, and you won’t be organized or likely to get much done without an order if you lack both.

Making your bed every morning as a ritual gives you a foundation on which to construct your day. This straightforward achievement builds muscle for completion and organization over time, which results in a feeling of well-being and other successes.

5. Skipping Breakfast

Breakfast is defined as when you consume a meal after a lengthy seven-to-eight-hour sleep cycle, (breaking the fast). Furthermore, since this is the most important meal of the day, we shouldn’t skip it in order to have more time in the morning for other activities.

Long-term effects of prolonged hunger on our health are noticed in people who skip breakfast. Therefore, we should eat whole foods first thing in the morning and boost our intake of fruits and vegetables. If you don’t have the opportunity to prepare healthy meals every day, think about meal planning for the mornings.

6. Carb Loading

For many people, pancakes, and donuts may be the most enticing breakfast option, but they can send your blood sugar on an up-and-down roller coaster, causing a high spike and a collapse. If you begin your day with simple carbs, you can anticipate a blood sugar crash a few hours into the morning, which can undermine your productivity, mood, and concentration.

Our mood and focus follow our blood sugar levels. To start the day, balance your carb intake with protein, good fats, and leafy vegetables. Consider adding eggs, avocado, nut butter, or vegetables to your smoothie or toast. You’ll be most productive if you eat to maintain a healthy blood sugar level, so keep protein, fiber, and healthy fats in proportion.

Breakfast stabilizes the amount of sugar in the food we eat and maintains digestive health without making us feel bloated. Additionally, I advise consuming foods that are simple to digest and that encourage improved metabolism in the morning.

7. Not Drinking Water

Monitoring your body’s water levels is one of the most important daily habits that many people overlook completely. A healthy gut and metabolism can be supported by drinking enough water first thing in the morning and continuing to remain hydrated throughout the day. We can boost our immune systems, avoid poor breath and bladder infections, and more by hydrating in the morning. Start forming the habit of beginning your day with plenty of water and detoxifying beverages if you want to stay healthy and productive.

8. Drinking Coffee

Yes, drinking coffee first thing in the morning is on the list of poor morning habits, and doing so before 9:30 a.m. is not advised. Between the hours of eight and nine in the morning, our body naturally produces more cortisol, a stress hormone that controls energy. Coffee consumption during this period can throw off our body’s natural cortisol monitoring mechanism. However, it’s thought to be best to have a normal cup of coffee at noon. Drink a tumbler of water to stay hydrated while preparing a cup of coffee.

9. Not Exercising Or Moving Your Body

Lack of a morning exercise regimen is another bad morning habit, though its effects may not become apparent while we are still young. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to incorporate exercise into our daily routine. Just 15 to 30 minutes of early exercise can boost both physical and mental productivity. Exercise in the morning can also help to increase metabolism, which maintains us in shape.

If you feel you don’t have time to squeeze in a morning workout, try walking to work or cycling there rather than always taking your car or public transport.

10. Not Having A To-Do List

Setting an objective or making a daily to-do list is important for having a productive day. This is due to the fact that the list helps our subconscious mind stay on top of the routine even when we are asleep and gets us ready to wake up when the alarm goes off for the first time. As a result, we have a simple start to our day and never want to stay in bed longer. A to-do list makes it easier to accomplish all of the daily tasks.

5 easy DIY lip scrubs for smooth lips

Your lips will look soft, smooth, and healthy after using this homemade lip scrub to remove flaky, dry skin. using this simple method, you may make your own homemade lip scrub using basic, all-natural ingredients.

Nothing is worse than having dry, flaky lips. Your lips may feel dry and chapped during colder weather, or even during the summer when you don’t drink enough water. Although I regularly apply this homemade lip balm to my lips, sometimes it’s necessary to exfoliate the lips’ damaged skin.

Although there are lots of lip exfoliants you can buy online, is it really worth that price? Why would you pay $10 to $50 for a product when you could make it yourself for under a dollar? I have a quick and simple homemade sugar lip scrub recipe that uses things you probably already have in your kitchen.

What Is A Lip Scrub

A mechanical exfoliator, or one that physically eliminates dead skin cells, is what lip scrubs are. Lips that have been properly exfoliated can more easily absorb protective and hydrating products like lip balm.

An exfoliator and a nourishing agent are the two main ingredients that make up a lip scrub. The emollient or nourishing component gives your exfoliant a hydrating basis that makes it simpler to apply to your lips. These two work together to moisturize and hydrate your lips.

How To Exfoliate Your Lips

-Before you begin, make sure your lips are makeup-free.

-To remove dead skin, gently exfoliate your homemade lip scrub.

-To help keep the air around you wet, use a humidifier, this will help prevent tearing your lips open and causing them to bleed.

-If you exfoliate in the morning, wear an SPF lip balm; if you’re getting ready for bed, use a hydrating lip balm.

Tips For Exfoliating Your Lips

–Be Gentle: Don’t exfoliate lips too hard! When applying your sugar scrub, rub it into your skin in a gentle slow motion to avoid tearing your skin open.

-Don’t Overdo It: Only exfoliate your lips once or twice a week; this will remove enough dry skin to keep your lips soft and supple, until your next exfoliation. And make sure to avoid exfoliating when your lips are feeling extra sensitive.

-SPF: Apply lip balm with an SPF ingredient before going outside to protect your lips from the sun’s harmful rays.

-Always Moisturize: After exfoliating, choose a creamy lip balm to moisturize your lips. The Shea Butter and natural oils in NIVEA Original Care Lip Balm will help keep your lips moisturized for up to 24 hours!

-Be Patient: You should wait at least an hour after exfoliating your lips to apply any makeup to it.

Should You Exfoliate Your Lips

You should be exfoliating your lips! There are numerous easy ways to make a lip scrub at home, so you don’t need to do anything elaborate to exfoliate. But first, let’s take a closer look at how exfoliating might benefit you before we share our homemade lip scrub recipe.

Benefits Of Lip Exfoliation

Lip care is not just important for looking good. You can better maintain soft, supple, and healthy-looking lips by exfoliating your lips once or twice a week. Other advantages of lip scrubs include but are not limited to:

-Getting rid of dry skin prevents chapped and dry lips.

-Exfoliating your lips can stop them from becoming dehydrated, which can result in swelling, bleeding, or dryness.

-To soften and smooth out your lips.

-To prevent discomfort by maintaining the moisture of your lips.

-Minimizes the appearance of discoloration by balancing your lip tone.

-To improve the appearance and durability of your lipstick.

Ingredients Information

Why Use Coconut Oil In Your DIY Lip Scrub

There is nothing else like organic coconut oil for your skin! Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants that nourish the skin, it can permeate the skin more deeply than other products due to its low molecular weight and way of attaching to proteins. If necessary, you can also use shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or olive oil for coconut oil. When you run out of coconut oil, these oils are a great substitute.

Why Use Sugar In Your DIY Lip Scrub

For the basis of your lib scrubs, you can use white sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, or coconut sugar. While brown sugar and coconut sugar have a subtle, sweet scent, cane sugar, which is the standard in most scrubs, has almost no scent. Sugar exfoliates the skin effectively and is gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Why Use Honey In Your DIY Lip Scrub

Honey is beneficial for both dry and chapped lips. It possesses wound healing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial effects. Apply honey to your lips throughout the day to add moisture, promote healing, and prevent cracking or infection in chapped lips.

Why Use Cocoa Powder In Your DIY Lip Scrub

Antioxidants found in cocoa powder help to combat the effects of aging, brighten your skin, and lessen the appearance of red spots. You can frequently find antioxidants in fruits, vegetables, tea, chocolate, and wine.

Why Use Coffee In Your DIY Lip Scrub

You can utilize this hidden weapon to maintain the youthful appearance of your skin and lips. Caffeine is a superfood that also tones the lips and aids with pigmentation reduction, is added to coffee. Coffee grinds, which are rich in antioxidants, efficiently exfoliate dry, chapped lips to provide you with flushed lips.

How To Choose Your Scent For Your DIY Lip Scrub

To give this lip scrub a revitalizing scent, add a fragrance. I use organic essential oils, but you may also use herbs, plant extracts (like vanilla extract), and scents.

Lavender oil: Lavender oil deeply nourishes your lips and is excellent for preventing sunburns on your lips.

Peppermint oil: Peppermint oil aids in promoting blood flow under the lips and producing a fuller appearance that makes your lips look larger.

Vanilla Extract: It can aid in soothing and moisturizing chapped, dry lips. Vanilla extract may be used to make lip balm that is not only delicious-smelling but also good for your lips.

How To Store Your DIY Lip Scrub

Making homemade lip scrubs in small batches is always a good idea. They’ll last you for approximately a week and stay fresh. Use an old, dry, clean lip balm or eyeshadow container to store your scrub, or buy containers on Amazon. To avoid bacteria, sterilizing the container by soaking it in hot water for a while is advised, and storing it in the fridge.

All of these homemade lip scrub recipes are simple to make and may keep your lips soft, smooth, and moisturized without irritating them.

Natural lip hydrators include coconut, honey, and vanilla, while sugar acts as a scrub. However, be careful not to over-scrub your lips because this could harm them.

Also, be sure to eat well and drink plenty of water. The majority of your skin care problems can be resolved with a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, feel free to select one of the homemade lip scrubs on the list; we are confident that your lips will adore the recipes.

Five Reasons Your Scalp Is So Itchy And How To Get Relief

why your scalp is so itchy and how to get relief

It’s tough to focus on anything else when your scalp itches. For some people, an itchy scalp can be a temporary situation, such as sensitivity to something that comes into contact with the skin, an infestation, such as head lice, or it can be related to a more chronic condition such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis.

Even though you might think the itching will never go away, there is hope. Finding out why your scalp itches is the first step in getting rid of the itch. Here are 5 causes of itchy scalps, along with suggestions on how to get relief.

Dandruff

If your scalp is dry and itchy and you see flakes on your hair or clothing, you may have dandruff. Because of the abundance of sebaceous glands on your scalp, it is important to clean your scalp thoroughly. If oil builds up, you can end up with clogged hair follicles and dandruff flakes.

If you have dandruff, using a dandruff shampoo and scalp treatments can help. I recommend using a scalp-friendly shampoo and conditioner, such as OUAI Anti-Dandruff Shampoo with Salicylic Acid; this anti-dandruff shampoo is formulated with Salicylic Acid to fight flakes and propanediol caprylate to provide soothing relief for irritated scalps. To stimulate the scalp and protect against breakage.

Product Buildup

You may need to better rinse the shampoo and product out of your hair if you have an itchy, dry, and flaky scalp. Your scalp may become irritated if you leave your shampoo, and product residue on it.

You might have a condition called allergic contact dermatitis if you have a rash and an itchy head. The most important allergens eliciting contact allergy of the scalp are found in bleaches and dyes, shampoos and conditioners, products for perm waves and straighteners as well as product buildup. Besides active ingredients or drugs, vehicles and preservative agents represent additional allergens.

This happens frequently to those who color their hair. Black hair dyes contain a component called para-phenylenediamine (PPD), which is frequently to blame. Another possibility is that you’re allergic to your shampoo, conditioner, or another product that you may be using. If that’s the case, your scalp and any other flesh the product touches are likely to develop an itchy rash.

To stop the itch, you must stop using the product that’s causing the reaction as well as regularly cleanse your scalp. If you’re having a hard time finding it, a board-certified dermatologist can help.

Head Lice

The most common sign of head lice is an itchy scalp. Ask someone to carefully inspect your scalp and hair for evidence of these tiny bugs if you think head lice may be the source of the itching.

The itching associated with this Pediculus humanus capitis infestation of the scalp is believed to be a reaction to the lice’s saliva. To stop the spread of the organism, lice infestations are treated using specialized combs, topical therapies, and close contact checks.

In the end, it’s a good idea to contact a dermatologist if you’re unsure of what may be causing your itchy scalp. A dermatologist can examine the affected area and identify potential causes of your symptoms.

Scalp Psoriasis

The scalp is additionally impacted by psoriasis in addition to the elbows, knees, and body’s trunk. A scalp flare-up affects about 50% of individuals with plaque psoriasis at some point.

On your scalp, you might have dryness, silvery-white scale, and reddish patches that resemble dandruff. Itching associated with scalp psoriasis can range from minor to severe. For those with this condition, shampoos containing salicylic acid, like Neutrogena Exfoliating Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine Shampoo, or shampoos made of tar, like True+Real Therapeutic Plus Tar Gel Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, are beneficial treatment choices.

In patients with psoriasis, it is important to avoid manually picking off the flakes, as this can lead to irritation and potential infection.

Dry Air

Dry air can deplete the natural oils from your scalp and hair, making your scalp more sensitive.

It is crucial to take extra measures during the colder months by supplementing with hats and moisturizing products. Natural oils are necessary to create a barrier that prevents bacteria and toxins from entering the body. When you’re indoors all year round, I advise using a humidifier, such as the LEVOIT Humidifiers for Bedroom or the Rosekm® Humidifiers for Bedroom to avoid dryness and safeguard your skin barrier.

Habits That Are Ruining Your Productivity

habits that are ruining your productivity

Creating everyday routines that increase your productivity requires the development of good habits. However, kicking bad habits is just as crucial!

You can change things around so that you are effectively using the hours in the day to work toward your objectives by breaking inefficient and toxic habits. Bad habits that are affecting your productivity will get harder to quit as you continue to practice them. Therefore, if you think you may be engaging in any of these bad habits that hinder productivity, I do advise trying to change them immediately.

In doing so, you will also have more time in your life without them, which means you will have more time to be more effective and work toward your goals. Let’s get started with the article so we can talk about the habits that kill your productivity and how to change them so you can actually learn to be productive.

Although it might seem overwhelming, it’s never too late to start and it’s crucial to break these bad habits!

5 Habits That Are Ruining Your Productivity

So here are these habits that you need to do to break to and live your most productive life. And then you can reach for your dreams!

1. Hitting The Snooze Button

While it may seem like hitting the snooze button in the morning will give you a little additional sleep before you begin your day, in reality, it actually has the opposite effect. That’s because your endocrine system starts to produce alertness hormones as soon as you wake up to prepare you for the day.

You’re slowing this down by going back to sleep. In addition, those extra nine minutes are insufficient for your body to get the deep sleep that it requires for restoration.

2. Not Making Daily To-Do List

Make to do lists

You can see everything you need to achieve that day by using a daily to-do list. Additionally, it enables you to prioritize what needs to be done each day. One of the best tools you can use right away to increase your productivity is a daily to-do list.

If you don’t make a daily to-do list, you need to break the bad habit of beginning your day without a strategy and a to-do list. Making to-do lists is crucial if you want to start being more efficient. I suggest purchasing a straightforward to-do list notepad like this one to get you started.

On your desk, keeping a notepad with a daily to-do list can be helpful in breaking this productivity-ruining habit of not having to-do lists. Keep in mind that having things in plain sight is a great way to serve as a reminder to yourself so that you can develop new habits. Create new, more productive routines to increase your productivity.

3. Skipping Breakfast

Our bodies and minds are intricately intertwined, and providing our bodies with the fuel they require goes beyond simply getting enough sleep.

The most significant meal of the day is breakfast. You’ve probably gone 10 or 12 hours without eating by the time you wake up, which is how breakfast earned its name because it literally means “breaking the fast.” In order to concentrate and be productive throughout the day, your metabolism needs to be refueled and your blood sugar levels replenished at your first meal of the day.

Low blood sugar makes it much harder to concentrate and is associated with increased levels of fatigue, irritability, and impatience.

The key to a successful morning is striking a balance between lean protein and high-fiber carbs. Even though all carbohydrates increase your blood sugar levels, high-fiber carbohydrates like those found in fruits and whole grains do so more steadily than sugar and low-fiber carbohydrates like those found in refined grains.

4. Excessively Using Your Phone

Since most of us have access to the internet at work, it’s easy to get distracted by browsing social media or looking up the answer to a random question that just came to mind.

All of us have lost ourselves in the social media time vortex. You log onto Instagram for a brief moment to check for a few new pictures, and then two hours later you find yourself scrolling endlessly on Tik Tok. I’m not advocating against using social media… But watch how much time you waste on it!

Hours spent on social media is not time well spent. Instead, treat yourself by using social media during your downtime from work. Social media can be fantastic for expanding your company or maintaining relationships. Don’t let it run your day, though.

In general, using your phone can be a significant time waste that prevents you from being more effective. I advise establishing a timer on your phone if you have trouble controlling the use of your social media and phones in general. Don’t let yourself use your phone until the timer goes off.

5. Putting Off Your Work Til Later

People frequently finish simple tasks first thing in the morning to get the day started and save the more challenging work for later. This is a bad idea that frequently results in important jobs being completely neglected.

Willpower is a finite resource that dwindles over the course of the day. Given this, it’s best to complete your most challenging and crucial duties first thing in the morning.

Here’s How Often You Should Wash Your Hair, Depending on Your Hair Type

how often do you need to wash your hair

Maintaining a wash day routine when caring for your hair is common practice. Some people only do it once each day, while, some people prefer once or twice per week.

But what if you’re not shampooing your hair frequently enough—or worse, too much and you’re just stripping it?

In order to ensure that your strands feel and appear their best, we found out just how frequently you should wash your hair.

How Often Should You Shampoo Based on Hair Type

How frequently you should wash your hair depends greatly on your hair type.

But rather than simply following a strict timetable, you should listen to what your scalp and hair need. Itching, flaking, product buildup, greasy strands, and naturally any unpleasant odors are indications that you should wash or cleanse your hair.

Straight Hair

To prevent oil accumulation, people with fine, straight hair (type 1) should wash their hair two to three times per week.

Those with fine strands often feel greasier throughout the week because there is less surface area on the head for oil to collect.

Curly or Wavy Hair

Type 2 or type 3 strands, which are buoyant loop curl patterns and flexible “S” shape curl patterns, are common identifiers for people with wavy to curly hair.

I would recommend washing at most twice a week for this hair type because it needs more oil on the head to keep your strands hydrated.

Coily Hair

Coily textures are classified as having type 4 hair, which also contains types 4A, 4B(my hair type), and 4C. 4B is a tighter coil with a less distinct curl, 4C is a zigzag design, and 4A has an “S” or ringlet pattern.

It’s best to limit your washdays to once a week if you have this hair type.

This more delicate hair type can lose the oils necessary to keep the strands hydrated if they are washed too frequently, type 4 hair is just naturally drier hair.

When shampooed once a week with the proper products, the scalp can absorb the nutrients used on the hair.

Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner if your hair feels particularly dry.

What Washing Your Hair Too Often Can Do

So, how frequently should you shampoo? A daily hair wash is certainly excessive.

For your hair to remain hydrated, it needs those oils.

Because it helps the hair retain more moisture and makes the shampoo more gentle, I suggest using only a cleansing conditioner in one wash if you feel the need to cleanse your hair every day because you work out.

Dulls Your Hairs Shine

Since your hair is being deprived of its natural oils when you overwash it, one frequent side effect is a loss of shine which causes your hair to look dry and dull.

This is particularly true if your product doesn’t shield the keratin protein and color from damage if you have colored hair.

Scalp Imbalance

Overwashing your hair can mess with the pH, pH equilibrium, and scalp microbiome. Your hair will feel like straw as a consequence, and your scalp will feel dry, irritated, and inflamed.

The oil generated by the scalp, or sebum, is our natural food for the scalp and hair; it moisturizes and straightens the strands.

A tight, dry head and dry, coarse, breakable strands can result from washing too much away, which creates an imbalance.

Overwashing your hair can make it even oilier if you have an overactive, oily skin.

Additionally, hair can become limp and battle to maintain a style. I advise using a thickening shampoo or conditioner if your hair starts to become desensitized to help it recover its strength and fullness.

Effect Of Not Washing Your Hair Enough

Although how long you go between washes really relies on you, it’s probably time for a wash once you start to notice oil buildup on your scalp and your strands begin to get flatter.

When there is buildup on the skin, it must be detoxified and cleansed to get rid of extra sebum and debris.

Scalp Conditions

Washing your hair will help you prevent scalp skin issues, just like when you wash your face and body.

If you wash very rarely, the oil may begin to accumulate in layers, clogging scalp follicles and promoting acne on the scalp.

Psoriasis, alopecia, and dandruff can all develop as a result of not cleaning your hair.

Additionally beneficial for circulation, stimulating the scalp, oxygenation, relaxation, and de-stressing the hair, cleansing should be part of your daily routine rather than a burden.
